A Special Message to All Jackson Memorial Members

Jesus taught us about the power of gathering together in prayer and trusting God in every circumstance.

First Lady, Rev. Gail Sutton, would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended The Prayer Connection yesterday. It was a glorious event, and the presence of God was in the place.

Together, we prayed concerning the injustices affecting our children, young men, and young women.

We asked God to:

❤️ Strengthen their hearts
🕊️ Bring peace and comfort
⚖️ Grant wisdom, knowledge, and guidance to judges, attorneys, advocates, and all those working toward justice for our youth and young adults

💙 SEPTEMBER HEALTH AWARENESS

September provides an opportunity to increase awareness of three important health concerns:

🔵 Prostate Cancer Awareness
🩸 Sickle Cell Disease Awareness
💜 Suicide Prevention Awareness

 

🔵 PROSTATE CANCER

Prostate cancer may develop without early symptoms. Men, especially Black men and those with a family history of prostate cancer, are encouraged to speak with their healthcare provider about their individual risk and whether screening is appropriate.

 

🩸 SICKLE CELL DISEASE

Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects red blood cells. Knowing your sickle cell trait status, maintaining regular medical care, and supporting blood donation efforts can help save lives.

 

💜 SUICIDE PREVENTION

Suicide prevention is everyone’s responsibility. Please take time to check on your family, friends, youth, and neighbors.

Listen without judgment and encourage anyone who may be struggling to seek help.

📱 Call or text 988 for free, confidential crisis support available 24 hours a day.

This September, let us promote awareness, encourage early action, support one another, and make our health a priority.

🗳️ ELECTION PREPAREDNESS

As we prepare for the upcoming November election, we encourage all eligible members to make sure they are registered to vote and that their voter registration information is current and up to date.

📋 Voter registration information is available in the vestibule.

Please stop by and pick up the information you need to prepare for the upcoming election.

Your voice matters. Let us be informed, prepared, and engaged in our community.

We also encourage parents, grandparents, and mentors to educate our younger generation about the importance of civic participation and the history of the struggle and sacrifices made by those who fought for the right to vote.
